What is DTMU

See The Transmission, timing and Management Unit for DTRU BTS (DTMU) is the core part of the BTS3012. It performs the following functions:

l   Generating clock for the entire BTS

l   Switching the data on the E1 timeslots to the internal data bus between the DTMU and the DTRU

l   O&M management of the boards in the BTS

The DTMU is inserted in slots 0 and 1 in the common subrack. It is a mandatory module. In active/standby mode, two DTMUs are configured to connect the BTS and the BSC. The DTMU supports 4-path or 8-path E1 signal input.
